MySpace has lost 12 years worth of music in a mantainance exercise
Today MySpace announced that it has lost user data uploaded three years ago in server migration that apparently got botched. The data included photos and music. The songs deleted are estimated to be close to 50 million. MySpace was the most popular social network in the 2000s before it lost out to Facebook. In a statement posted on it's website the company had the following to say:
"As a result of a server migration project, any photos, videos, and audio files you uploaded more than three years ago may no longer be available on or from MySpace. We apologize for the inconvenience."
