Baba Harare stirs controversy by roping in ED PFEE singer for highly anticipated Ramba Wakadzvanya album launch
After a breakout year in 2018 in which his song The Reason Why became the anthem for everything and was played everywhere Baba Harare is looking to build on the momentum by releasing his sophomore album Ramba Wakadzvanya on 11 January 2019. Ramba Wakadzvanya which means keep pressing when literally translated exposes Baba Harare's ambition to be the main man in Zimbabwe music.
However the album launch which is scheduled to take place at Foodnest Restaurant in Harare on Friday, 11 January 2019 has drawn criticism because of the lineup of the acts that will perform. Peter Moyo, Audinence, Samanyanga and Zanu PF loyalist musician Chief Hwenje Shumba of the ED Pfee fame. It is Chief Hwenje Shumba of ED Pfee who many feel should not have been part of the cast because of his blatant political praise. In defence Baba Harare insists that Hwenje will be understrict instruction not to play any of his political songs.
Baba Harare and The City Vibration band will also perform at the launch. The album will largely have a strong jiti sound.
